Minnesota Good Works Welcomes Community Table Into a New Season of Service

Minnesota Good Works (MGW) is honored to share that Community Table, a cherished ministry that has served monthly community meals in Elk River for more than five years, will be transitioning under the care of MGW at the end of this year. Community Table will host its final event on Sunday, December 21, 2025, marking the close of a beautiful chapter and the beginning of a new season.

Since its launch, Community Table has embodied a powerful mission: creating a place where every person feels welcomed, cared for, and seen over a warm meal. That mission has been sustained by incredibly dedicated leaders and volunteers who have poured themselves into this work year after year.

After much prayer, reflection, and conversation, Community Table’s leadership recognized that sustaining this ministry long-term would require additional support. Minnesota Good Works is humbled to be entrusted with carrying this mission forward.

As MGW prepares for this transition, the monthly community meal gatherings will pause temporarily while plans are thoughtfully developed for what comes next. While the format may evolve, the core spirit of Community Table — connection, dignity, and shared hope — will continue to guide this work.

​Welcome to the Community Table! Here at the community table we seek to feed the hungry, physically and relationally by providing community gatherings in which food, friendship and neighborly love will be shared by all.

We believe through providing a meal and loving interaction, we will help to build up individuals and families. We seek to not only meet their need to be fed physically but we would help them to know they are loved and not alone. We believe this is a two way relationship where both those being served and those serving, grow together as a community. Community Table will be a place where we learn from one another and seek to make our community a healthy and safe environment. We seek to empower those we serve and those who serve to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually to build a healthy community.

As we come to the close of another year, we find ourselves reflecting with deep gratitude on the journey of the past 5½ years. What began as a simple desire to serve nutritious meals and provide a welcoming space has grown into something far richer—a true community woven together by compassion, generosity, and shared purpose.


Month after month, you helped us create more than just meals. You helped create an environment where everyone belonged—where neighbors could sit together at a table, volunteers could find joy in serving others, and families could feel the warmth of being welcomed without question. You helped build a place where dignity, connection, and kindness were always on the menu.


Thanks to your support, thousands of meals have reached individuals and families who needed them most. But the impact has gone far beyond food. You have supported conversations that restored hope, friendships that eased loneliness, and opportunities for people to give back in meaningful ways. You helped shape a gathering place where the whole community could care for the whole community.


Your generosity—whether in donations, sponsorships, time, or encouragement—has been vital. Because of you, this work has not only been possible, but deeply meaningful. We are profoundly thankful for your belief in our mission and your ongoing partnership.


As this season of Community Table comes to a close, we hold both gratitude and anticipation in our hearts. We believe—and pray—that something even greater will rise in its place.
